About Refreshment Zone

Refreshment, vision & hope are essential to innovation & imagination. Refreshment Zone was founded after my visit to the Mayo Clinic where I witnessed life's off-road journeys, bravery & optimism. My experience at Mayo, combined with my doctoral training in communication and my work with nonprofits, fuels my hunger to make a difference in the lives of leaders - at work, at home & in our communities. Refreshment Zone was founded with that principle in mind.

More About Kathy

LinkedIn: Let's connect - for a description of consulting work and clients, please visit my Linked In profile or our Client Testimonials.

Books Influencing My Work: Process Consultation by Edgar Schein and The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life by Erving Goffman are two formidable teachers.

Favorite Book: An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth by Col. Chris Hadfield (I love a good metaphor.)

Favorite Quote: “Every transition begins with an ending…we have to let go of the old before we can embrace the new.” ~William Bridges~

So Many Mottos: (1) I don’t backtrack.  (2) The numbers tell a story. (3) Get out of the way! (4) Stop moving - plan, ask, listen and then act.

Kathy's Refreshment: Digging in the dirt, playing catch with my dog, hanging with my kids, singing-harmonizing, and journaling bring me back into balance.
