Today my phone told me it was going into "low power" mode.

I am grateful for the inventors of the program that helps my phone select the most important places to expend energy and make decisions about what to let go.

This is helpful programming for life.

Sometimes it is necessary to stretch our energies out until we can plug ourselves back in. Today is a day like that for me and, like my phone, I am going to have to decide where to expend energy and where to let something go until I can recharge my battery.

If you have ever found yourself needing to switch to low power mode, consider adding energy to you...

It popped into my head with such clarity: "I have lost my senses!" (The double meaning was not lost on me.) And just as quickly, an "inner knowing" presented itself: "When we lose our senses, we lose our ability to heal." Awaken your senses with intention. Think less. Feel more. Smell. Listen. Look. Touch. Taste. Awaken your senses with intention. Enjoy! ~Kathy~

We work so hard. We think so hard. We need to be sure to create time to refresh ourselves - we think about others and pour from our reserves while forgetting to refill. "Intentional rest" can happen in 3-5 minutes (taking longer when you can). It can be simple - stretch, walk, listen, dance, breathe, hug, smile. Find your rest - refresh yourself each day with intention. ~Kathy~

We do a great job taking care of others. We are good at loving others and doing things for others. February is a great time to remember that we need to love and take care of ourselves. How can you take better care of yourself this month? When we are well ~ we start with a strong foundation and are better able to take care of others. Pay special attention to yourself this month. When we take time to love ourselves, we are better able to bring out the strengths in others. Enjoy the blog: The Greatest Love of All. Take care - we need you.  ~Kathy~

Sometimes I find myself seeking the perfect shell on the beach - but the more interesting shells have cracks and crevices - just like us. Every nook and cranny holds a story and a journey - just like we do. There is nothing more interesting than imperfection. It tells the story. Embrace your story - it's beautiful. ~Kathy~

Sometimes saying "yes" is the right decision. Say "yes" to throwing the ball. Say "yes" to talking to your children. Say "yes" to taking a deep breath. Say "yes" when someone offers you help. Say "yes" to a hug. Say "yes" to your wilted plants (if it pleases you to water them). Say "yes" to the things that make you happy. Re-write your "to do" list and just say "yes." If you find yourself caught in a never-ending treadmill of activity that isn't aligned with your health, happiness, and people you value the most, then it's time to see the opportunity before you. Is your heart asking you to say "yes" today? Yes! ~Kathy~...

Some days priorities are harder to set than others, but these two questions can bring simplicity and clarity to every day:

(1) What do you need to do?

(2) What do you want to do?

Every day's "to do" list should be populated with the answers to both.

Keep your list simple.

Write it down. Your top bullet points ought to fit on a post-it note.

When the day is over, you may have accomplished 50 additional tasks ~ but your answer to these questions (both wants AND needs) should be addressed first.

Try it out. It's an amazing focusing tool.

You are an important part of the formula ~ refresh yourself!

Do you remember coloring when you were a little kid? There are health benefits of adding a little coloring to your life. Reduce stress, calm your mind and activate your right and left brain. Mandalas have long been used as a meditative focusing tool and you can find lots of free coloring sheets on the internet. Coloring isn't just for kids anymore and there's research to support the health benefits. Buy some crayons and add some color to your life! ~Kathy~

You have the power to "get away" at any time. In fact, it's a very healthy thing to do. It starts with five minutes and the sound of your breath. Roll your shoulders. Relax your jaw. Put on some relaxing music. You will come back refreshed and ready to take on the world! Thanks for your work - in all settings. ~Kathy~

If you are experiencing any areas of resistance in your life right now, consider letting go, just for a little bit. Pick your paddle up. Consider where you are. Think about where you would like to be. And then plan your journey. Let your kayak float downstream~just for a day. ~Kathy~
