Enjoy the Waterfall

This piece is so lovely, I hope it will wash over you in ways that make you feel happy from the inside out. The wash of glorious sound in this piece actually gave me the sensation of standing under a waterfall and letting the water fall over me - in a joyful, breathless surprise. I hope it will wash over you in that same cleansing way. The text makes me feel gratitude for health, capacity for learning/growth, and unexpected happenings.

I was so lucky to sing this piece with the North Carolina Master Chorale this past year. While I cannot share our performance, here is the world premiere of Dan Forrest's musical setting of E.E. Cummings' poem ("i thank You God for most this amazing day"). It is performed by the Atlanta Master Chorale. Cummings' text is offered below.

i thank You God for most this amazing day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything which is natural which is infinite which is yes

(i who have died am alive again today, and this is the sun’s birthday; this is the birth day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay great happening illimitably earth)

how should tasting touching hearing seeing breathing any–lifted from the no of all nothing–human merely being doubt unimaginable You?

(now the ears of my ears awake and now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

e.e. cummings 1894-1962

There is so much more to say - for now, I send good thoughts, light, and wishes that you have a wonderful week.
